THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST

Which God gave Him to show His servants

what must soon take place.

Rev. 1.1

The entire Bible reveals the Glory

of God the Father through the Son, Jesus Christ.

The the Book of Revelation completes the Biblical revelation to us

what Jesus was going to come and do,

what He did come and do,

and what He is doing now.

FOR EXAMPLE:

Isaiah tells us that Jesus would come to reveal the Glory of the Father.

Chapter 40

Isaiah 61 tells us what this glory would be.

Luke tells that Jesus did come and reveal the His Glory.

Luke 3.4-6 tells us He came.

Luke 4.18-19 tells us the glory of the things He said and did.

The Epistles (letters to the church) tell us how He is now

revealing His Glory

by what He is doing in and for us.

Romans-Revelation

The book of Psalms gives us the details of the Glory He works into our lives.

The Prophets tell us a great many details of His Glory.

Isaiah through Malachi.

TODAY

God works (is working) in (us) to will and do of His good pleasure.

Phil 2.13

To us

God has chosen to make known...the glorious riches of this mystery,

is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Col 1.27

As we come to know Christ is His glory, we can

proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom,

so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.

Col. 1.27

A MAJOR PART OF THE REVELATION

OF RICHES OF THE GLORY OF JESUS CHRIST IS FOUND IN

THE BOOK OF THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST,

Which God gave Him to show His servants

what must soon take place.

Rev. 1.1

THY KINGDOM COME

Our Father, Who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be Thy Name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done....

Matthew 6. 9

  1. Commitment to Kingdom

Matthew 6.33—My first, most important priority, each day

    2. My work

Mt. 13.33—yeast of Kingdom worked in and throughout my life

3. My Values

Mt. 13.44-46—Treasures in the field and Pearls of great price

4. Sacrifices for the treasures of God's kingdom:

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;

a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

Ps. 51.17

5. My sacrifice to God is TIME TO BE WITH HIM

A. For Prayer for the grace, truth, and power of God's Kingdom in my life

B. For Meditation on Scripture about God's grace, truth, and power for my life

AS TIME WOULD HAVE IT

Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, “The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—appeared to me and said:

I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt.

And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt.

into...a land flowing with milk and honey.”

Exodus 3.16-17

There are vast periods of time that are passed over in Scripture—400 years in Egypt, 400 more between Malachi and Matthew, the many years of Jesus that are unaccounted for.

There is the selectivity of those reports that are reported on that seem minor points—all the chronologies, the many repetitious directions on how to prepare offerings, lists of materials and offerings.

Things that most of us would like to know are passed.

Things that most of us don't see any point to are drawn out like useless details.

My thoughts:

  1. This much is settled: this Book in every detail was directed by the Holy Spirit for our edification (Ro. 15:4).

2. The Book is to develop faith, love, joy, peace, holiness and righteousness, grace and truth and much, much more. I must learn in little bits at a time. The Book is designed to make my present need, my area of development under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, known and embraced.

    3. The gaps in the record come about because what is given is chosen for me to see truth of and from God in ways that are beyond my present understanding. The discipline of meditation on these parts will make other parts more important to me. With the progressive growth of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, I will understand more and more of what I pass in many years of readings. He uses all of the Book for His purposes and methods in develoing our souls into a refelction of His Glory. Over a lifetime, we see more and more of what once seemed senseless to us.

    4. That which is passed over is not because God is indifferent to the people and what is happening to us. God has selected Scripture that meets our needs in whatever is happening to us every day and any day, as long as we live.
