The Lord spoke to Moses,
"I am going to come to you in a dense cloud,
so that the people will hear Me speaking with you
and will always put their trust in you."
Exodus 19.9
God the Father spoke directly to Moses:
The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. Ex. 33.11
God the Son, Jesus, came from Heaven to speak directly to men:
"...in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son." Heb. 1.2
The Holy Spirit comes and speaks dlearly and directly to us today:
"Our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and with deep conviction." 1 Thes. 1.5
"What God has prepared for those who love Him...(He) has revealed to us by the Holy Spirit." 1 Cor. 2.9-10
"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Sprit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may Him better." Eph. 1.17
"When He the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you." John 16.13-14
God the Holy Spirit speaks directly to us!
God the Holy Spirit speaks to us today just as clearly as the Father or the Son ever spoken to anyone at anytime. It is no harder or more difficult to hear the Holy Spirit when He speaks in His invisible presence than it was to hear and believe the Father's or the Son's visible, audible presence.
The message of God must always be heard by the heart or it will not be heard at all, no matter how it is spoken. The Holy Spirit is the One Who opens the heart of the one seeking truth of and from God:
"By setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God...If our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing...For God, Who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowedge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Cor. 4.2-6
With each glimpse of this light of the glory of God given by the Holy Spirit, we are changed into a reflection of this glory by the Holy Spirit--2 Cor. 3.18.
What the apostles and prophets were given by the Father and Son was written down for us. When we read what they wrote, the Holy Spirit will empower us to understand what those men understood.
"...The mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ...as it has now been revealed by the Spirit..." Eph. 3.2-5
As we "...consider,...learn,...obey..." (Psalm 119.6-8) the revelations and words of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will give us life from these words of life that He uses to speak to our heart and conscience today.
"By His divine power He has given us His great and precious promises...(which) men spoke from God...by the Holy Spirit." 2 Peter 1.3-4, 21
Prayerfully read and think on the Scriptures, dear friends.
