TEMPTATION
Twice
in His last moments of prayer,
Jesus
warned His Disciples about
TEMPTATION.
His prayer was,
“Father,
if you are willing, take this cup from Me;
yet
not My will, but Yours be done.”
Before and after this
prayer, He warned the disciples,
twice,
“Pray
that you will not fall into temptation.”
The
Scriptures tell us that
“Jesus
was tempted in every way, just as we are.”
Hebrews
4.15
Therefore,
“we
have a high priest who is (able) to sympathize with our weaknesses.”
Heb.
4.15
Therefore,
“Let
us approach the throne of grace with confidence,
so
that we may receive mercy
and
find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Heb.
4.26
Temptations
are around us at all times, in all places.
We
fail often.
Our
Lord and His grace are available for all our needs.
He meets all our needs.
Failures are His specialty.
"God...gives
generously to all without finding fault
(without
scolding, shame, blame, criticism).”
James
1.5
Repentance
and confession bring
forgiveness
and cleansing,
holiness
and righteousness.
Trials
carry temptations,
but
as Jesus shows us, and Hebrews tells us,
we
have but to seek grace
in
prayer
with
Scriptures,
and
we will find freedom
to
live in the light of His glory and grace.
