1 SAMUEL
2.1-10--HANNAH'S PRAYER
Hannah's prayer
reflects that the result of her great heartache, she learned much about
You. Her heart remained tender, sweet,
and gentle, but deepened in her great need for You.
When You answered
the cry of her heart after many years, she was prepared with a heart able to
receive many deep realizations from You and celebrate with joy and thanksgiving
how wonderful You are.
She saw, realized
that the child was Your preparation of her life and that the birth was a
"deliverance" for her own soul--grief, sadness, sorrow, doubts,
suffering, shame…..
She clearly and
joyfully, gratefully, recognized Your glorious grace in her whole life plan and
purpose.
She saw You as holy
and like a Rock, a Rock like no other source to depend on for life fulfillment,
a Rock Whose promises never fail.
She had suffered
from the proud and arrogant words of the jealous Peninnah.
She now knew that
You known all about all her life and grief.
She now knew that the difference between sorrow and pride had mattered
to You all the time.
Humility and grief
matter "weigh" much more to You than pride and arrogance.
The bows of warriors
are broken, but those who stumbled are armed with stregth.
The warriors can no
longer cause pain and suffering.
Roles are completely
reversed.
Vv. 4-8 is a series
of contrasts between those You bless and those who have been proud and arrogant
in their godlessness.
There are nine
contrasts.
The list, with the
declaration that You are Lord, sets the foundational Laws of life for all the
earth.
These foundational
Laws of Heaven are the bases of the peace and fulfillment for the world and its
peoples.
God is the judge of
all the earth. Those who oppose Him will
be broken, no matter how strong they appear to be from earth's values and
points of view.
God gives strength
to those who are great in the righteousness of Your kingdom.
Faith and
faithfulness are the measures of greatness, of "Kings," in Your
kingdom.
Has not God chosen those who are
poor in the eyes of the world
to be rich in faith and to inherit
the kingdom He promised
those who love Him"
James 2.5
"He will give strength to His
king and exalt the horn of His anointed."
