DELIVERANCE WILL COME!

ROMANS 7.1-25

We are dead to the penalties of the Laws against sin.

We no longer subject to fears of punishment for our sins.

Jesus took all punishment for all sin.

I am no longer to be punished for my sins.

 

In my past, my sin was named by the Law and by my conscience.

I knew my sin was wrong.

I knew I was wrong when I sinned.

The more I studied the more I realized how wrong and how pervasive my sin and sins were.

 

(I can now see that the Law was very helpful in this way.)

 

But the Law only showed me my failures and their consequences.

The Law could not help me with wisdom and power to be and do what is right and good.

I was helpless and hopeless--miserable, with no way to save myself, and no one to rescue me.

 

It was like Jesus said, 

"A sheep without a shepherd, troubled and helpless…weary and burdened,"

Matthew 9.36-38; 11.28-30

 

 desperate to learn from Christ the rest I needed for my soul.

 

Thanks be to God, Who delivers me/us

through Jesus Christ our Lord!
