"In those
days the word of the Lord was rare;
there were not many visions."
1 Sam. 3.1`
"The
Lord was with Samuel as he grew up,
and He let none of
Samuel's words fall to the ground..,
Samuel was attested
as a prophet of the Lord.
The Lord revealed
Himself to Samuel through His Word."
1 Sam.3.19-21
"Samuel's
word came to all Israel."
1 Sam. 4.1
The Word of God was
rare because it was a rare person and a rare occasion for there to be someone
who made the Word God a priority in their life.
It was rare to find
a person who sought to know the Living God in power and glory according to His
Word.
It was rare to find
a person who sought to know and live for God's glory.
It was rare to find
a person who knew God well enough to know that the people of God had abandoned
Him for false gods and false teachers.
It was a rare person
who would never fail to pray for the needs of the people before God.
It was a rare person
who was not half-hearted, therefore, without substance, in their professions of
faith.
Far be it from me that
I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for You.
And I will teach you
the way that is good and right.
But be sure to fear
the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart;
consider what great
things He has done for you.
Yet if you persist in
doing evil, both you and your king will perish.
1 Samuel 12.23-25
To obey is better than
sacrifice…
Rebellion is like
divination...arrogance like idolatry…
I have sinned.
I was afraid…I gave in
to them.
1 Samuel 15.22-24
It is a rare person
who will meditate day and night to understand words to speak to the people of
this generation like those Samuel spoke to his.
God will reveal His
words to any man who will seek Him, desiring to speak for Him to the
broken-hearted, trouble, burdened, hopeless, oppressed all about us.
We must have a
compassion beyond just the sinner's prayer to seek to be ministers of the grace
of God to rebuild and restore broken lives and families a godless or non-god
culture.
If we were
individually serious about this, we could each become a serious disciple
learning to obey the commands of Christ.
If we learned, we
could teach.
Jesus commands us to
learn and to teach.
His commands can be
learned.
His commands can be
taught.
Each of us could teach 3-6-10 people to know, live, love, and teach others in our lifetime.
This would change our nation and our world in three generations, as recorded in the Book of Acts.
The Book of Acts is our model.
We are supposed to do it like they did.
If My
people, who are called by My Name,
will humble
themselves and pray and seek My face
and turn
from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven,
and I will forgive their sin and will heal
their land.
My eyes, My ears, and My heart will always be there.

Chronicles 7.14-16
