OVERCOMING FEAR
PSALM

6:29 AM
Evil powers are too
great for us.
They are out to
destroy us.
In my new heart,
I seek to know and serve You in holiness and righteousness.
But, I live in a
hostile world that seeks to oppose me
and tempts me to abandon You for lies and false hopes.
Fearful, frightening
thoughts of evil attack me, especially at night.
I must learn to
believe that I can rely on You.
I must stay
"Under His wings" as my refuge in times of trouble.
I will take refuge in the shadow of Your wings until the disaster has
passed.
Psalm 57.1
I say, "My splendor is gone and all that I had hoped from the
Lord."
I remember
(think about, dwell on,
"obsess,")
my affliction and bitterness
And my soul is downcast within me.
Yet this I call to mind
(set my mind on, think about, meditate on)
And therefore I have hope:
Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness.
(Instead of thinking, "My
splendor and hope are gone," etc.),
I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion ;
therefore, I will wait for Him."
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks
Him…
Lamentations 3.18-28, 31-36
Morning will come.
Morning will come
with new mercies,
mercies I never knew existed.
These mercies will
include love, faithfulness, righteousness, peace, compassion and grace.
(See Psalm 85.10-13;
86.15-16.)
I will
never leave you nor forsake you.
Be strong
and courageous…
Keep this
Book of the Law always on your lips;
meditate on
it day and night,
so that you
may be careful to do everything written in it…
Have I not
commanded you?
Be strong
and courageous.
Do not be
afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the
Lord you God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua
1.6-9
"The
work of God is this:
to believe in the
One He has sent."
John 6.29
Our
greatest enemy is the fear that comes from unbelief.
We must
fight fear with faith.
Faith comes
from the Word of God.
We must
believe what God says.
We must
read with meditation
to know and
understand
what God is
saying.
And then,
DO IT!
