THE LORD WILL SHIELD AND DELIVER

The Lord almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion...
He will shield it and deliver it,
He will "pass over" it and will rescue it.

Isaiah 31.4-5

People want help from Egypt.

They ask You to help them get life from Egypt, to bless their life in Egypt.

They do not seek You and Your help for Your will and way out of Egypt.

They want You to bless their efforts to be happy in Egypt.

They have little idea that You want them out of Egypt and in the Land of Canaan.

You want them in the land You have chosen for them, a  land flowing with "milk and honey."

 

4-9--

You bring deliverance right here, in this room, this place of Your temple glory.  The glory of Your eternal temple comes into this room and flows into my heart and overflows from my heart like a fountain river of living water to all to whom I speak.

 

This is amazing!

 

I do not have to fight my own battles in the flesh of Egypt.

In quietness and trust, repentance and rest (Isaiah 31.15), I find Your glory streaming into my soul and from me to all others who come here to me, to whom You send me.

 

Visions of Your glory

Bring

peace

Joy

Love

 

Here in this room, each morning, I come to drink from this fountain of  living water, to eat from the table of the bread of life.

 

Here this morning, I see more clearly that You have called me to be with You in this room, my sanctuary, and receive life from You, even as Elijah waited with You by the drying river, fed by ravens.

 

Here Elijah stayed until You prepared the way for him to go to Ahab with power and authority to call him to repentance, facing his anger and the malice of Jezebel, to bring Your truth to the nation.

 

Those whom You call to speak with Your authority and power must abide quietly with Him until He has prepared them to speak for Him.

 

Enoch walked faithfully with God for 365 years.
Noah worked on an ark for 120 years.
Abraham built altars for 25 years.
Jacob wrestled all night with an angel.
Joseph spent 12 years in an Egyptian prison.
Moses spend 40 years in Pharaoh's palace and then 40 years in a desert.
Joshua served Moses for years.
Hannah waited until God had prepared the nation for Samuel's leadership
And many, many more.

And now you and I must find a place to be prepared by God for His service.

If any man would come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow Me.
